January 2015 opened up the year with a very huge number of albums, providing a good variety and a good number of songs to choose from.

Sajid-Wajid, opened up the year with Tevar which witnessed them giving some great songs, and also two gems. Imran Khan didn’t impress much with his club song in the same album.

Then came A.R. Rahman with his I. One of the most modern and instantly connecting youthful albums of the Mozart of Madras, it definitely was liked by one and all. All songs had repeat value.

The ‘Aashiqui 2’ team, Ankit Tiwari, Mithoon & Jeet Gannguli reunited for Alone just to compose one song each, and all their songs worked very well. It was just the presence of an outsider Raghav Sachar that spoiled it.

Next up was Baby, with its short album consisting of three songs. The first by Meet Bros. Anjjan was innovative but failed to strike any chord. The next two were the same song, by M.M. Kreem and were the definition of the album, literally.

Sajid-Wajid made another appearance in January, with Dolly Ki Doli, in whichd we saw their performance drop a bit, but still providing enjoyable songs nevertheless.

Hawaizaada emerged as the dark horse of the month — 10 songs, all gems! Rochak Kohli, Mangesh Dhakde, Ayushmann Khurrana & Vishal Bhardwaj really worked hard to impress the audiences with their respective works.

What ended the month was the Vishesh Films’ Khamoshiyan, in which the two well-known composers, Jeet Gannguli & Ankit Tiwari impressed , while newcomers duo Bobby-Imran and Naved Zafar didnt quite do well in their debuts, ending the month on an average note.

Since I’m very, very late this month (so much that I’m posting the awards of the previous month in the next month), I’m directly moving on to declaring the awards and again, no voting… Extremely sorry!!
